can anyone explain what the difference betwee these two is, please?
And is it worth paying £50 more a laptop with the second? (It's the only difference in the spec)
1. Intel® Pentium B987 processor, 1.9 GHz clock speed without TurboBoost, 3 GHz, clock speed with TurboBoost, 1066 Mhz processor speed & interface, 3 MB cache memory
2. Intel® Core™ i3-3217U processor (1.9GHz clock speed without TurboBoost, 3GHz lock speed with TurboBoost, 1066Mhz, 3MB cache)
Thanks

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

The I3 is a much better processor.
But to explain why will mean a load of tech jargon,Lol.
It has a quicker graphics and memory controller, and hyperthreading technology.
Depending what you plan on using the laptop for depends on whether its worth the extra money to you.0 -
Mainly internet (shopping, banking, booking travel arrangements - no social networking), email, photos, possibly a small amount of video editing and Word/Excel docs, often several of these at the same time (I have a short attention spanThe I3 is a much better processor.

I would go for the i3, purely just to future proof myself.0

Current (pretty ancient) laptop that I am looking to replace has Celeron M 410 CPU @ 1.46GHZ so I'm guessing either will be an upgrade from that

You really don't want to be video editing on a Pentium. You need a fast processor and plenty of RAM.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Here's a couple of fairly in-depth specs/writups

Both are modern processors and TBH there doesn't look to be £50 worth of difference to me.0 -

2 thread vs 4 thread, 32nm vs 22nm and HD Graphic 2000 vs 4000. I do think that worth 50 quid.0
