when i download large files, the download suddenly stops for no reason. it happens on both of the computers that have been connected to it (1 wired, 1 wireless). when i used the old modem (usb one), it is fine.
the computers are both windows xp. the router is a netgear dg834g (v3 if that makes any difference) and has wpa-psk security with a strong password

Sounds unusual. If it is happening on a wired connection as well as wireless, the only thing I can think of to try would be to reduce the mtu to 1400 (http://192.168.01 then wan setup) on the router, but I doubt it will make any difference.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Does it happen with downloads from your browser or does it happen with p2p? I get it with p2p with our router sometimes but it kills my whole net, only way to get it back is restart and i think its something to do with the number of connections although speed limiting seems to sort it too, try lowering them in the settings for your program.0

Is your firmware updated. I doubt it is the problem or that it will solve it but last time I had a "weird" problem with my netgear router it went away when I upgraded the firmware. Might be worth a try."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
