Funny, I don't see you telling people who you are...

I really enjoy the attitude of this forum, it's so loving. You really know how to welcome new members who aren't used to being here...

We are as welcoming as your sarcastic thread. As the saying goes, what goes around comes around.

    Oh nearly forgot

    Happy Christmas

Thanks for the pm lilias :)

I've sent a message to the site actually running the competition to ask what they would like to happen. I'll let blackmidnight know if/when I hear anything back.

A couple of companies in the past asked us not to post their comps then came back to me a couple of months later when their traffic (ad revenue) dropped and asked to be taken off the 'don't post comps' or 'don't post answers' lists. :D

It's not worth upsetting companies over something like this so once I have a response we can follow it :)

    happy adventing everyone!
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

Wow, super swift response to my enquiry form from the site who are running the competition - on an evening too!

Please can we no longer post the answers to any comps on the Extra Ethical site - at request of the site themselves.

I'll add the site to the list in the Comping Guide that don't mind the comps posted but don't want the answers posted along with them.

Please respect the sites request - thanks all :)

    I feel a tad insulted.
As a matter of interest I have bookmarked several sites after visiting them through this comp...despite the answers being here. Purely because I like the ethics of them and the products/services...and find them novel.
I don't need paying in the form of prizes to like a well run and interesting company if they have a decent site. Some of the site's I have bookmarked haven't provided prizes yet either.
I used to build and design sites, what I would have encouraged in this case would have been all the input here on the actual competition pages instead...where it comes over as a carrot not a stick, a thank you and an opportunity to add valid keywords and links.
No-one here shoots themselves in the foot. We're not here to shop primarily, we're here to effectively enter competitions and win stuff by helping each other.
The trouble people go to here to help others should also suggest that given a request to support the sponsors with a visit they would gladly do so.
I suggest something like rafflecopter would give you and your sponsors more feedback on the traffic ...and drive traffic to sites as a means of entry.
Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam

Same here Tim - a few websites I have visited for the advents I have saved to revisit in the future, this was one of them. Not anymore!

Prize providers are not likely to carry on offering prizes if nobody visits their sites...

See, those companies WILL get the visits to their sites - I have over 100 websites bookmarked that I have been on to enter competitions - and I would say at least 80% of them I would have never gone on otherwise!! Companies run competitions because it is generally cheaper than a big advertising campaign.

Sometimes wonder how they have the cheek to call this "Moneysavingexpert" when all I seem to do is spend after being on here :rotfl:
    Thanks to all posters :A

I have stopped entering this Advent! So I am one less fan they will have! Like Timmmers, I too, actually liked the look of the site - great info, layout etc, but if the owners aren't friendly then I will stay away. I still wonder why they came onto MSE? Yes - they want us to share their comp, spread the word etc......

    So have I.

I also will not be using the site ever now. Shame as it looked good. But I would rather spend my money somewhere I don't get insulted
