Possible Asbestos in loft!

Just to get some opinions, our offer was accepted around 10% below asking price & our mortgage just went through.
As the house was built around 1900/1901, we decided to send in our own surveyor to take a look. He found 2 things which I an wondering if I should be worried about.
1) Granular insulation in the loft which he suspects may contain asbestos. Can I ask the house vendor to foot the bill for get it checked and if found to contain asbestos, to have it removed and replaced with non-asbestos containing insulation? Too much?
Anyone know if it is ok to just leave it as we most probably not ever go up there (unless we decide on a loft conversion).
2) The inner wall of the extended kitchen (8-10 yrs old) has registered borderline readings on the damp meter but the outer wall did not seem to be leaking in water/damp. Should I be concerned about this?
Any opinions/comments would be much appreciated!

2 may just be condensation, which is primarily caused by the lifestyle of the occupants.0

Granular insulation was normally polystyrene beads. Would get a test done (£30) or so on line and then make a decision. Whether the vendors will pays another thing.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
