Places to sell jewellery in London/Surrey area

Hi all
I have a query that I hope someone will be able to help me with.
Both my mother and myself have some jewellery we would like to sell on. In DM's case she has two beautiful gold (9crt) rings with semi precious stones in them, and in my case I have a necklace which is silver with a blue semi precious stone.
We have been to a couple of pawnbrokers, and phoned up independent jewelers, but they will only buy the rings/necklace for the silver or gold, not the stones.
Does anyone know of anyplace in the London or Surrey area that might buy the pieces as a whole rather than as for "parts"?
We are already considering ebay if we cant find anywhere but not really sure how safe that would be.
