I was a bit perturbed to see my model of Indesit washing machine featured on Watchdog on Wednesday as being a model that had a history of exploding!
I called them (Indesit) on Thursday morning and they arranged an engineer to visit on Friday afternoon to give the machine a once over. The engineer came, on time, after texting to give me a two hour time window, had the top off the machine, did his check and declared it safe.
To say I'm impressed is a bit of an understatement really. Well done Indesit! :T

Very impressive when you consider how many calls they must have had after Watchdog.0

Rang up yesterday
My engineer is coming at 1pm today.
Good service Indesit.0 -
I saw the programme and was slightly worried as I have just bought some indesit appliances including a washing machine. Was less worried when it was apparently only a specific model and batch that were supposed to be faulty.
Anyway, even though an engineer has been out and checked the machine and passed it as safe. Exactly what sort of cover does that give you, if say next week, your machine blows to pieces?
It may give you piece of mind in the short term, but does it actually give you any firm cover in case of problems?0 -

Engineer came today.
Checked over machine even though he said this particular batch wasn't affected.
While he was doing this he noticed the seal around the door had gone hard,so he renewed this, free of charge.
not bad for a washer four and a half years old.
Fantastic service.0
