I think drilling may be the only way, i have an extractor set and the bolt it not much wider than the smallest one not sure it will work, i may just get a new rad to have on standby if it does not work, can return it if not needed

Why are you still pondering? £80 for a new rad and a DIY install would have seen this fixed by now.

This is a money saving site i thought ?

Im looking for a money saving solution , seems a waste to just chuck a perfectly acceptable radiator if it can be fixed for free.

It is a money saving website but everyone also values their time. How much is your time worth? For me, spending £80 on a new rad, swapping it over and enjoying the rest of my weekend would represent a massive saving in money as my time is valuable.

Buy one of those pound shop 1/4 drive socket sets (if you don't have one already!), pick the appropriately sized socket and tap it onto the bleed screw whilst applying gentle unscrewing pressure.

Once it's come undone, either leave it there (complete with socket) or replace it

looking at the rust around that bleed nipple i don't think it's gonna last much longer anyway
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
