Base for Memory Foam Mattress

Can anyone advise the best type of base to use for a memory foam mattress. I currently have a sprung edge divan base but was considering buying a slatted base when I buy my new mattress. I have been to a bed showroom and all they told me was that it was due to personal preference - not a lot of help then!! Any advice would be appreciated.:confused:

It mainly depends on the type of memory foam mattress you are going to use??

Make sure the gaps between the slats are no bigger than 1".

The advantage with a slatted bed when using a latex foam/memory foam mattress is that it provides better air circulation.
