I also went to my local Comet in London, there are signs in the windows saying "No closing down sale - business as usual"0

They are not in liquidation, just in administration, and continuing to trade. So far the administrators have not closed any stores, but I would imagine that some will be closed shortly.
As long as you can take anything you buy away with you there and then, it's perfectly OK to use them.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I heard on the radio today that comet was having a sale and there is big reductions, So i went there to look for a new cleaner but there was no sale and when a customer asked a worker about the sale they said there wasn't any. So i thought it's a big con.0

That depends on how you define a 'con'. I haven't seen anywhere where Comet themselves or Deloittes have said there will be a sale. Just because 'the news' says something, that doesn't automatically make it true.0

As I said "there is going to be a sale"
:)
I wouldn't get over excited about a sale, that is when the 'con' for the naive starts, how many have forgotten already when Woolworths were closing, the sale was not really a sale (just glad I licked the pick n mix sweets and put them back :rotfl:)0 -

It's not having anywhere to take them back to when anything fails that would put me off, unless it was mega cheap or a basic item.
If a firesale does take place I am sure all the good clobber will have been whisked away for sale as a job lot in the trade."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

But the manufacturer's' warranty will still be there, even if Comet go to the wall.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
