Spotify -data protection violation?

I have been receiving emails from Spotify about Facebook friends adding tracks etc to their playlists.
As a hater of Facebook (although I have an account to save whining friends), I would never elect to inform people of my activity on Facebook, nor to know theirs - I know at this point I probably sound a bit po-faced humdrum, but bear with me.
I've been through my settings on the application and on my Spotify account web page, and ensured all privacy settings are secure. Still I'm getting emails from Spotify about others' activity.
I've sent them a message explaining all of this, but received no response. Feeling my privacy is being violated.
Is there anything I can do?
Thanks in advance!

Sorry I can't see anywhere in your post where you mention your privacy being violated.0 -
@Forwandert -
1) Spotify has been sending me emails about my Facebook friends' activity without me (knowingly) giving them permission to access this list of friends
2) If I am receiving information about their activity, then the likelihood is that mine is being shared too without my permission
Granted, this information isn't top secret/ explicitly personal stuff, but surely I have rights to this being kept secure if I don't request for it to be shared.0 -
1. Maybe it's accessing your friends "friend list" and sending the information to that list (including you)
2. No, youve got your privacy settings set so it wont.
There is no DPA breach here.0 -
How does spotify even have a link to your facebook if you haven't linked them?
I am a member of both but don't have them linked so they would have no way to connect to each other and share my details.0 -
Why not just cancel both accounts?0

You waive your rights to privacy by joining any social networking website.0

These days, if you're new to Spotify, you can only sign up if you link your Facebook account. It appears to me that this is what has happened here.0

Change your settings on Facebook and ask your friends to do likewise.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

TBH it sounds like Facebook settings and not spotify. However, in order for applications to send you information, you have to have authorised it. Anyone whos used facebook will be familiar with the "would you like to grant x application access to your details/allow them to communicate with you" blah blah.
Some applications do come with settings to allow your friends to see what you are doing. So they will only be sharing what you're up to if you have given them authorisation to.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Facebuck$ emails me every month to say I am missing out. I check in occasionally to see !!!!ed up muppets on Saturday night.
Some long seen cousins are not in particular what happened, but regret a few days later their deeds of insobriety.I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!
