Good morning - hoping someone can help me...I recently submitted a claim for mis-sold credit card PPI from Marbles. I filled in the FOS questionnaire as advised but as I closed the account a couple of years I didn't have the PPI policy number or the credit card/ account number. I received a letter from Marbles telling me that they could not proceed without an account number. Additionally they stated that the account had originally come from HSBC & provided an address to write to to obtain the account number. I sent a letter to HSBC, including a copy of the letter from Marbles, & a few days ago I recieved a letter from Bank of Scotland(!) with the same reference number as the original letter from Marbles, telling me that they could not process my claim without an account number. I phoned the number on the letter & spoke to someone who told me that I needed to submit a Section 77 request to Lloyds TSB...now I'm proper confused. Has anyone else had this experience &, if so, how did you resolve it? Thanks in advance:wall:

That wont help you. The consumer credit act only applies to open accounts.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

Hi, I spoke to the FOS and am currently liaising with them regarding this. It seems to have done the trick insofar as that I'm now getting a response from Marbles - although they are saying that they have no record of my PPI....0

did you not has a direct debit set up to pay them?
If so you should be able to get details of the old direct debit details and the reference should be your card number/ account reference.0 -
Im having a similar problem on a marbles account closed 3 years ago. I requested details regarding PPI etc, they responded saying they needed an account no, after a lot of going backwards and forwards the eventually gave me my old account no. I re submitted asking SAR details on this account and they said they do not have any details relating to that account and to contact HSBC..0
