Thought I'd post this here, on the off chance it may help someone.

I've recently had a whole new Gas Central Heating system put in, free of charge, via the Everwarm Scheme: http://www.everwarmgroup.com/

I work full time, and own my flat, so it's not restricted to a benefit/renting criteria. :)

I'll be honest, when I first heard about it, it seemed too good to be true - and you know what they say about that..? :rotfl:But, there's honestly no catch.

From what I can see as long as you're in one of the eligible Postcode areas - no idea if there's a list of them, or if you just have to try the website (I tried my Auntie's G postcode but she wasn't eligible, as North Lanarkshire Council haven't signed up), and have an innefficient/no central heating (I had old storage heaters), then you can apply.

It's the best thing I've heard about in a long time, I'd still be saving this time next year etc hoping to eventually have the cash to put in central heating myself.

The guys who came to my flat were fab, and I couldn't recommend them more if I tried. :T

Hope it's ok to post this on here?

Lou xx

ETA: My flat didn't have a gas meter, although there was a supply to the building, they even arranged/paid for the meter to be installed as well.

Curly, as far as I know/can see on the website, it's for anyone in an eligible postcode area with no/inneficient heating. :)

I'm 36, so not quite a pensioner yet, although I feel much older some days. :rotfl:

I'm also a homeowner, and working full time - all the criteria that would usually exclude me from any such deals.

Honestly get her to contact them to come out & do a survey, that's all I did, next thing I know they're arranging a suitable date to have the meter fitted (I didn't have one), and the heating installed - all for the grand sum of £0. :T

I appreciate she's apprehensive, I was, as it really did sound too good to be true. I kept asking the guy, who did the survey, what the catch was. But, honestly, there wasn't one.

If she's worried it's a scam etc, could you arrange to be there when they do the initial survey (which, in my case, was to see how many radiators I needed, where the boiler would be placed etc - I thought they'd be wanting land registry documents, wage slips, bank statements etc lol)?

Until the guys downed tools that day, and walked out leaving me with a full new heating system, I was still wondering what the catch was. :o

Hopefully she'll get her new heating system. :)

I was so happy (and still in shock lol) about it, it seemed only right to let others know.

Ohh, and this isn't late to me - I work nightshift, just getting back into my routine before I start my working week again. :(

If you expect a reply during "normal" hours, forget it. :rotfl:

Oh, I hope she gets it ok. According to the website (as a gas fire isn't central heating, by any stretch of the imagination :p) then she should be eligible.

I'd better continue to spread the word fast, now that I know it's finishing soon... :D
