ltd company wound up...£13k cheque we cant cash????

Hi, My friends husband had a ltd company, contracting roadworks etc, however he wound it up as it stop making profit etc when the councils that he did work for stopped contracting out....longer story than that, but in essence thats what happened. When the company was dissolved, any remaining assets should have been passed to the Crown.

In theory you can set up a new company with the same name but this isn't the right way to do things, and may well cause more problems. You need to have the old company restored. As others have said the accountant has questions to answer here.
