    I can't see why you cannot do this - it is legal to give preferential treatment to disabled workers.

    It was a genuine question as I was under the impression you could not give preferential treatment to anyone.

    Perhaps you could read up on disability and employment - given your earlier objection to the possibility of the disabled being treated more favourably. If you think it is tough finding work at the moment, it is considerably worse for the disabled.

    Preferential treatment can be given in terms of reasonable adjustments, support and as part of Positive Action - but not Positive Discrimination, which is what the OP is suggesting. The Equality Act doesn't allow that!

    It's narrowminded employers not my fault if they are finding it tough.

    Just like most do not want to employ the unemployed.

    Maybe I should tell employers are am partically deaf in one ear and that will get me a interview! (fact I am, not a joke)

    Must admit I have not seen it (and I am looking now) where it says in the Equality Act that you can advertise for disabled people only.
