british gas error
Hi I am new here and was just hoping some1 could give me some advice.
I got a letter this morning from a debt collector say i own british gas £259.99.
I have to spoke to the debt company and, told them this is news to me as i didnt think i owed british gas anything.
Anyway after been on the phone to british gas,,they have told me that i dont owe them anything and i was sent to the debt collector by error.
British gas said they are gonna get in touch with the debt company and get them to remove my name from there files.
They then said they would give me some compensation.
Should i take a offer of compensation or should i seek legal advice on this matter.
Any info would be great.

Legal advice for what, you had a letter which puzzled you but it was sorted out with a phome call and BG are going to compensate you for it.

To cut a very long story short the debt they want i payed back nearly 2 years ago.After british gas looked at my account they have even said i payed back every penny i owed them.
But some1 within british gas has passed me over stating i havent payed a penny to them.
Thank you for your relpy,i will wait and see what my offer is (£10 love to shop voucher) lol0 -
