Best way to transfer money for house sale

Could anyone advise me as to the best way for someone to transfer me monies for a house sale?

It is a little bit different in that it is for a property i own abroad, and everything can be done in the same morning.

i.e:
buyer pay me the money.
both sign a private contract.
both go to relevant government office to sign papers over.
done!

How would they give me the funds, if not in cash?

Thanks for any advice.

Wire same day transfer. Proof of funds vital. Surely through a solicitor though??
  • Thanks mickygg. No, no solicitors, which is why i wanted to know what is best to ask for.

Is having it 'wired' across, the same as a CHAPS transfer, and if so, how does that work?

    Thanks.

Wire transfer is across the water term for same day transfer, however in reality some countries will never be able to transfer instantly or same day as I have found out many times.Whenever I speak to foreign customers the quickest way of paying is a same day wire transfer.
Depending on the country I would google to double check as some countries vary.
If no solicitor/ third party is involved I don't know how you get around the holding funds until contracts are signed issue.

You need to research the property sale laws of the country concerned.

It will be different depending which country. In some, you MUST use a lawyer or other official, in some you must register the sale in certain ways.

Transferring the money is the least of your problems (though this too will depend on the country).
  • Thanks mickygg. Thats great. Cheers.
