Can anyone confirm a bankruptcy definitely disappears after 6 years?

You shouldn't need anything to confirm your BR should fall off after 6 years. Credit reference agencies report on activity for 6 years therefore it WILL fall off. As Fermi says Equifax is a little slower than the other 2 agencies so perhaps keeping track of them and getting them to update your record as soon as possible after your 6 year date.

Equifax have told me and my OH that we need to provide evidence of discharge before they will remove the bankruptcy from our credit files! Although I don't know why we should have to as I thought it dropped off automatically! Our bankruptcy was 17th Oct 2006 and it is still showing on Equifax, experian and Call credit is now showing as clear!
