Markers on car

Ive owned my car 6 years from new and never been in trouble with the police, the car is taxed, insured and has a current MOT however the last couple of weeks ive been followed by police.
I would of put it down to a little bit of paranoia/coincidence except one of them followed me into my estate, pulled up outside my front door, 1 officer got out and said hello, everything ok and then they drove off again.

Obviously theres nothing wrong with my car to give them reason to physically pull me over and theres nothing Ive done to attract unwanted attention (that I know of)

If I went to the station would they be allowed to tell me if theres something on my registration making them follow me and remove it? Obviously its not the end of the world if they want to stalk me but im sure they must have better things to do... :wall:

Could be something or nothing, but I would write to the Cheif Constable and ask.

No point in speculating, e.g. maybe one of your neighbours has reported you as a suspect drunk driver.

Maybe down to the time, Late night, Dodgy area or maybe your driving style?

  • Today it was about 4pm, admittedly the incident outside my front door could of been as it was about 10.30pm. Im in no way a girl racer, I stick to speed limits, being 32 and normally having a child in the car dictates I should drive carefully....
Areas not always the nicest but in no way a contender for police!camera!action!

Is the car a bit of boy racer type? modifed?

There's a girl down the road, mid to late 20's, old Ford Focus, modified, lowered, huge alloys, whale tail spoiler, drain pipe exhaust, im forever seeing her pulled by the cops, but then she does drive like a complete !!!!! (in our street at least).

If you've had the car that long it just means they are on the lookout for a similar one and just wanted to check out the details. (Unless of course you were out at Halloween wearing a stripey top, a mask and carrying a swag bag).

If you know you have no issues with your vehicle and don't ever drive or use the vehicle illegally it's unlikely your vehicle will be marked.

    It could just be paranoia.

Is there another user of the vehicle who uses it illegally, someone else who has used it without a licence or insurance or drunk or uses it for criminal activities? If that was the case, the police may have an interest in the vehicle, but that would immediately subside when they realised it was you that was driving the vehicle.

Maybe you've bought a car used previously by one of my acquittances in the pharmaceutical delivery business. Every few months they require new transport for some odd reason. It isn't an older focus is it?
