Roboform - what would we do without it!

  • I dont use roboform and never have. I did look into it, but Im not paying for a service to fill out a form for me (I know its free for a bit, but Im not prepared to get used to it and have to live without it :rotfl:)

I did download lastpass, but haven't managed to do anything with it. Not sure what I need to do now, but Ive not had time to look at it. Im not busy today at all so might have a look later.

But for now I fill out my forms manually , most of the time it remembers my info and its quick, but I am a fast touch typer so its not a problem to fill out manually anyway.

Just FYI, I use Roboform and it's not just free for a bit, I have never paid. As long as you don't have more than 2 "identities" you're OK. So I have one with my details and one to tick the no thanks boxes and that's it. I don't use the passcards or whatever, rely on cookies and firefox remembering my logins for those with no problems :)

when you go to sign up to roboform you get an option to have the free version or the paid one -the paid one has more features but the free one is fine for form filling

Did you ever get a response to this? Just curious as I won quite a few times with goodtoknow when entering manually, but not a bean since I started using Roboform a few months ago! Might be a coincidence but just read T&Cs & wondered if maybe this is why..
    Thanks :)

Anecdotally, I don't think Roboform always triggers the "data changed" event on a form field.

Also, I've seen instances where, upon submitting a Roboform filled form, I get an error message to the effect of "id is invalid". But when the form is filled out manually, there is no error.

That makes me think Roboform actually changed a hidden field value that the form relies on.

I should be able to knock up a test for this

Is there a list anywhere of forms that behave badly with Roboform, rather than me just searching Game Over for complaints?

thinking about this I've won less since I started using robofom. When I get back from my hols I will go back to using chrome filler & see if I start winning more
