Towel Rail Help!

Hi, when designing my bathroom I choose a chrome radiator, pipes being 500mm apart. Pipe centres at 525mm. The plumbing and tiling were fitted/laid to accommodate this. However this radiator is now not available! I am happy to replace it with an ordinary towel rail however they all seem to have pipe centres at 460mm or 550mm apart!
Is there anything I can do/buy to make a towel rail with the above pipe centre measurements fit???
Really dont want to pick up my beautiful tiles

Can't the pipes simply be bent outwards or inwards depending on what size you go for?Herman - MP for all!0

Its not that hard to move the pipe centre slightly - as in 5cm as you have. Ours is actually offset because we have an electric auxilliary element in ours so that we can have the towels dried in summer when the rest of the heating is off. This element goes straight in up the side tube of the towel rail so there is a T piece added below the radiator and the heating pipe then comes into it from slightly inside the radiator footprint (if that makes any sense).
Screwfix have some 500mm stainless steel towel radiators but you'd need to check the pipe centres on them. Worth looking at stainless steel as they give out more heat for the same surface area compared to a chrome one, plus they don't suffer the plating coming off or rusting.Adventure before Dementia!0 -
You can buy threaded chrome radiator extension fittings at most plumber's merchants and probably most of the sheds. They tend to come in lengths of 30mm, 40mm and 50mm and simply screw in between the rad and the valve to increase your pipe centres.0

your pipe centers were wrong for a rad anyway if you were going to fit a 500mm rad then the pipe centers would be 575mm not 525mm, do as TT suggests, a towel rail won't have those pipe centers either pipe centers for a towel rail are 30mm smaller than the rail unless you have a electric heater element fittedI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
