Ebay Free listing question

I notice it is another ebay free listing weekend and I have a pile of items to get rid of.
The last time on free listing day I tried to list some hair straightners, childrens toys etc and these were going to charge me but the clothing items were free.
Can anyone please advise what items are excluded?
I've had a look on ebay and can't find the answer.

Everything should be free as long as you are eligible. If you are a new user though you may have limits to what you can sell.

    Announcement here showing all exclusions:

Sorry I think I'm being blind (or just tired because its Friday)
I've had a look at that link and can't see exclusions listed.

I can still only list 25 items as I am reasonably new to Ebay.
I have only currently sold 18 items.

Do you know how long it takes to not be classed as "new" to ebay?

    Thanks

None of the items you mentioned should be excluded unless you were listing via turbolister or such like. If you reached your listing limit then you would not be allowed to list, it owuldn't just try and charge you.

The only other reasons for showing a charge would be that you had added extras, like extra photos or a BIN price.

eBay tend to play things by ear - it depends on a lot of factors but particularly on performance. It's a kind of training-wheel system: they don't want you to bite off more than you can chew with your first lot of sales or upload a lot of items apparently fallen-off-the-back-of-a-lorry that aren't going to get to the buyer.

Generally I think you can apply to them to get limits lifted but may be restricted until you can demonstrate a good initial track record.

also check when you prepare lisiting you are listing item as "auction only" - i once couldn't work out why i was being charged on a f-l-day until i realized a slip of the keyboard had made me list item as fixed price/buy it now..
  • Same problem again. When I am listing anything other than clothing it is coming up at 0.90p for a picture pack even though I'm just adding pictures the same as I am with clothes.
    Any ideas?
  • Try this when listing

Go to your listing.........Scroll down to > Bring your item to life with pictures

Click > add pictures............ Scroll down..... Make sure 'Picture Pack' is not ticked.

    I'm using a tablet. Can't find that option :(

How many photos are you adding for the other items (not the clothes). You're allowed up to 12 free photos for clothes, but only one free photo for things like toys and hair straighteners and anything that isn't clothes really. You can add more photos but you will charged for them, unless you add them into the listing by HTML code.
