Further to Alfriedo's response I've started a new thread I've just carried out the procedure in the previous thread which appears, on the face of it, to have got rid of the problem.

Could somebody please advise what to do next so that I can continue with banking etc...

post a HijackThis log along with the SmitfraudFix Rapport.txt after running the tool (this should still be on your PC from when you did the fix)

I did a search and cannot find the instructions on using HijackThis. Which programme should I run from the website, and also where do I find the Smitfraud. report

Download HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop to start the installation.
• By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
• Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
• Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
• Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
• At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
• Click the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
• Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log back here.

The Smitfraud log can be found here:

Run Hijackthis and here are the results.

The computer is running a lot better after doing the 4 step programme and running through the instructions to remove the Spylocked

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/remove Programs.

Click Remove on any of these vulnerable versions:

This is the first time I have posted about my computer on this forum

For me the problem was an absolute catastrophe, but thanks to the patience and understanding of Bowntoa I am pleased to say that it looks as though the problem has been resolved.

It is difficult to put my appreciation into words, but I am really grateful for the help, patience and understanding that I have been afforded.

I dealt with this "offline" for various reasons, there were security issues we needed to address and advice given to change banking and other secure sites...

is Nortons subscription up to date ??? otherwise we need to replace that
