Hi,
My wife and I have made a number of different chocolates/sweets which we are going to give as christmas gifts, the problem is now we can't find any good packaging!
We've come across this site and were about to purchase from them, however on a £25 spend, they wanted £12 on top P&P, which put me off as it seems a bit steep!
I've put a link in below to show the sort of thing we're looking for, hoping that you wonderful MSE friends can point me in the direction of other suppliers......
http://meridiansp.co.uk/shop-by-style/base-and-lid-boxes/wibalin-lids-range/48-choc-burgundy-wibalin-lid-x10
Please don't suggest making them ourselves, we're good at food, not so good at boxes
Thanks for your help
Jeff

Hobbycraft sell them, probably expensive but may be cheaper than paying so much for postage. Also, have you tried ebay and amazon? I'm always amazed at what you can find on them!Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

Can't beat a bit of cellophane and ribbon. You can also buy cellophane bags of various sizes and shapes.
If you are set on boxes they seem to have a few on eBay. Something like this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-Large-Gold-Gift-Boxes-chocolates-sweets-/180772455392?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Celebrations_GiftWrapping_ET&hash=item2a16e0c3e0

Hi, thanks for mentioning hobbycraft, not thought of there!!!
Always try ebay as you say, it's amazing what's there, unfortunately I don't seem to be able to find the "magic words" go get what I'm looking for
Thanks for the suggestion of cellophane, we are already going to use this for things like toffee/coconut ice and other things along that line.
Thanks for the ebay link Carrie, that's exactly the sort of thing we were after
Any more suggestions gratefully received as it's always nice to have a few different options

if you look on ebay for cello bags you can get them themed and different sized. My friend got some lovely ones with Santa on and made me some brownies last year - yummyMad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
Aiming to loose 56 pounds this year. Total to date 44.5 pounds 12.5 to go. Slimming World Rocks!0 -
Lakeland sell the bags too.I have seen cupcake boxes in TKMaxx so you could try there for other boxes and its always worth seeing what they have in The Works.0

We made truffles for lots of people last year and got some fab boxes from a card shop. I think it was a cheapo local shop like 'Cardland' or similar, but Clintons had them as well.
Loads of sizes, loads of designs, lined with tissue we'd saved throughout the year and start around 99p per box, or £1.99 for a large box. Definitely check your local card/wrapping type shop too!Proud to be a moneysaver0 -
i got some rectangular deep boxes from our local 'tat' shop (Thingamybobs). They were only about £1.00 - £1.50.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500

if you know any (old?!?) people who still eat ferrero rocher they come in a very handy sized hard clear plastic box. My mum used these for home made chocs for neighbours and used to tart it up with a bit of thin ribbon curled with scissors, taken and saved from old presents from year before, or those bow thingys http://www.giftbagshop.co.uk/shop/bows-stick-on-pull-bows-75/stick-on-bows-76/
you can double layer the chocs by putting in a layer of xmas paper cut to size, or most local craft shops do shiny red/green cardboard.
we used to use these for presentation

hope that helps and thank you for motivating me for a trip down memory lane! Might seek out the peppermint cream recipe now0 -
I make my own! you can get free templates off the internet or companies like Crafters Companion or Keepsakes (the Glitter girls) sell boards allowing you to make any size or shape boxes you like - all you then need is Card and glue!0
