LED Recessed Spotlights

I have very small spotlights that just take a GU10 bulb. They are too small for LED bulbs.
Where can I get a larger fitting (&how much)& is it a big deal to widen the hole?
There are 11 altogether & am expecting to save a fair bit of electricity.

You will save a lot of electricity, i just replaced 13 in my house with LED ones from amazon, these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Long-Life-Lamp-Company-replacements/dp/B006UR5IUY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351870759&sr=8-1
They completely exceeded my expectations. Brighter than the previous bulbs and a tiny fraction of the energy costs but they kick out the same sort of light colour temperature.
They will take a year to recoup costs if not slightly longer but i was forever changing my old halogen gu10's, every few months 1 would go. I expect these to last a year or 2 at the very least.
Anyway, all you need is the correct diameter hole saw/cutter which attached to an electric drill or just do it manually with a plasterboard saw but for 11 holes, just get the hole cutter.
You can buy light sets from anywhere. If you dont mind shiny silver or even white b&q do a budget box set of 3 for £10 which includes everything. Or you might just be able to buy the surround plate and clip for less as the wiring wont need changing.
Are you 100% sure the LED bulbs wont fit? Why is this? The bulbs i posted are apparently identical to halogen gu10's in size, i do remember some LED GU10's state that the LED's stick out so they wont fit closed designs but these ones from amazon should be ok.0 -
Good price for a fitting + clip : http://www.amazon.co.uk/GU10-Down-Light-fitting-Halogen/dp/B005IWOZ7E/ref=sr_1_2?s=lighting&ie=UTF8&qid=1351871144&sr=1-2 if needed0

Not quite sure what your problem is. LED light sources are designed to exactly physically replace GU10 and MR16 bulbs. If they weren't, they would have very few sales, as a good proportion of their sales are to replace bulbs in existing fittings..I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
It may be worth trying a different brand - I struggled with a couple of chinese makes before trying the philips myvision GU10 ones and they fit in perfectly. Also the Osram ones at B&Q are great for dimmable gu10 but wait until the 20% off weekends and they are 3 for 2 to members as well so 6 lights would normall cost £60 but would only cost £32.0

Its not always the diameter. LED bulbs can be longer than hals - and some of the fittings have a bracket behind them. I had that issue with mine - it was only a mil or 2, but enough to stop the restraining spring from going on.
I had to bend the rear bracket back - then they fitted perfectly.0 -
Just found & fitted the right sized GU10 replacements @ Ikea, £6 each with no detectable difference inlight.
LEDARE, 3.4watts, 2700 Kelvins, 150 lm's, & 25000 hours expected life. (not sure what all that means).Nice to save.0 -
150 lms - thats 150 lumen's. Thats a lot less than Halogens. A 50w hal gives around 420 Lumen's and a 35w hal around 320.
2700 Kelvins is the light temperature. "cool" light (blue) is a lower rating. the higher the rating the more orange then red the light goes.
If your happy - great, but Id have thought 150 Lm's would be a bit dim.0
