I am impatient already and it was only Wednesday last week that the memorandum of sales were sent out! I think I will give it until Wednesday next week, so two weeks, then if I've not heard I'll chase them for an update.
Maybe just a quick email asking when it can be expected might help you?0 -

I'm still waiting, 4 weeks now since the memo of sale was issued. Valuation was done last tues. still waiting for mortgage offer. Heard nothing from solicitors since instructing them & giving money for searches.
Not sure when I should hear anything??0 -

I don't even know what I should get sent by my solicitor?I've had mortgage paperwork/deeds to sign.
Fixtures and fitting and a map of the house.
That's it.
I wish solicitors were clearer in letting you know the process!0 -

Just as a update for anyone following this thread...
My solicitor received the contract documentation on 7 November, three weeks after the 'Memorandums of Sale' (17 Oct) and five weeks after the offer was accepted (6 Oct). They are raising some enquiries with the vendor's solicitor and I gather they'll send me a copy of the draft contract by 21 November.
Although this is only a single data point, I hope it gives an idea of what the time-scale can sometimes be.0
