Popla Appeals to take a while!

Submitted an appeal earlier this week and they wont be considering it now until the early part of December!

i wonder why they have penciled it in for so long. They have said they will send my statement/evidence to the parking company in question. Will be interesting to see how the parking company counters what ive said.

Well when i get the first one back i will be sure to let people know

  • I hope its because they have so many they have a backlog. Think of how many £27.00 that would be.

But...but...but... given the 28 days for the PPC appeals, and writing to RKs and everything, they must be sitting around twiddling their thumbs right now. October has only just gone.

Nope as when I spoke to him the other day they were still waiting for the first appeals to come in

Perhaps everyone is doing a Warner Brothers.

"But then the Americans sent them five large boxes of paperwork to support their claim and Mr McNeill's legal bill began to mount."

Hmm, perhaps we should all take a leaf out of their books and dump a ton of paperwork onto POPLA for every appeal.

"Dang, us PPCs would have got away with it if it wasn't for those darned kids!"

I would imagine they have to give the PPC 28 days to respond, then 28 days thinking about it and twiddling thumbs, so yea, i bet one filed on 1st Oct doesnt get heard till 1 Dec.

If no appeals came in to POPLA, or not enough to cover costs then what would happen?

  • That is ridiculous. I mean they can email between them all that and if their case is that strong then surely the defence they present is a just a minor formality to reply and for POPLA to consider?

Why should PPCs be given 28 days to respond, if they haven't submitted their case to the motorist in full with the speculative invoice, that's their hard luck.

Excellent point. In line with the PPC 'requirement' that no new information be introduced by the Rk/Driver at the POPLA appeal stage, the same should be true for the PPC.

Probably just to give the impression it's being considered, whereas they could print out their templated 'appeal rejected' letter now.
