Hi ellie14
Was all this done within the 60 day complaint procedure on ebay. As i have said, longer than that and they dont seem to want to know. Just looked on paypal and its even worse, you only have 45 days from payment to resolve the dispute. Its now 3 months for me.
Did you actually see face to face the seller and that is why you did not believe it was stolen?
Ebay and paypal keep talking as if they are your friend but seems like only up to 60 days. I am so frustrated with it all.
At least i have found a personal email address from my Paypal transaction, whether he will reply or it is valid is another question. Still cant decide whether to ask the seller for my money back or a refund. How confident can i be that it wont happen again if i give him the chance to put it right (assuming i can contact him).
Thanks. Will phone Virginmedia and try to get put through to there fraud department.0 -
I would definitely post this on the Ebay board.
I'm not sure, but the people on that board may well know, whether you can get the seller's address details from Ebay. Just a thought.0 -
Hi
posted it on the ebay board. only got 2 replys. A suggestion to try my credit card provider, but also says most wont because i paid with Paypal, and one about reporting it to police.
Just been talking to Virginmedia. They insist it is reported as lost or stolen and that i should contact the seller. i am awaiting a reply from him. They also accept my suggestion that the seller was able to persuade somebody that the phone was not lost or stolen the first time ,and get it reactivated. They will not , though, get it reactivated for me. I have told them that if they refused to reactivate it the first time i would have been in a lot better stituation with regards to Ebay and Paypal. Now, Ebay and Paypal dont want to know.
I am contacting Virginmedia fraud department but i have not been successful, trying for 15min so far to get through with the phone number they gave me.0 -
Have got through to the fraud and had 2 phone calls back.
First one was that maybe when the seller phoned Virgin mobile the first time he was still officially the owner of the phone and was able to reactivate it and that it is maybe an insurance scam.
Second one was for me to contact the police so they can work with them, and that he has his suspicions, but cannot tell me much due to data protection0
