Ebay time

Hi everyone, just a quick question. Am hoping to sell some items on ebay and am wondering whats the best length of time to sell them for?

3 days, 5 days, 7 days or 10 days? I was thinking 10 days but is that too long?

Thanks in advance for your help, if people could let me know their ebay selling experiences that would be great!

Thanks :)

Depends what the items are. For example, a current DVD will sell easily on a 3 day listing but a more obscure item will be better on a 7 or 10 day. Most of the time 7 days is enough - also think about your target market and when they will be looking on Ebay. Suday night is usually a good time for a listing to end.

As Sham says, the time depends on the goods really- always look at completed listings as well to see what sort of interest there is.

When I list collectables or antiques I tend to do 10 day listings as they have few buyers and I tend to sell on first bid- so the longer the better. Other popular items I'll list for 5 or 7 days on the basis that they are common place so I have no need to get them seen by many people, I just need to compete against other seller in 'Best Match'

  • Hi, also think about when you're free to post. For example, I tend to end auctions before the weekend as I know I'm free to go to the post office on Saturdays and Mondays (I have four children and youngsters and PO queues don't mix!).
I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:
