My husband has had letter back today to say he does not need to go for a medical and his benefit will continue at the same rate. They say he has passed the assesment with the ib50 he filled in and also information from the gp and the occupational therapist he sees.
They say he may be asked to fill in another ib50 in 2012 and may then have to go for a medical.
He has been stressed to bits with worry since sending it back as his condition has become so much worse since the last time he was checked approx 8yrs ago.
At least he can relax now after weeks of added pressure that was really unnesesary.

Great, glad to hear it.
My husband also passed the assessment,; they have not put any date on his at all, but said they may need to check with his doctor in the future.
These things are very stressful, especially to those with mental health problems; however I suppose they have to check somehow.
Congratulations again.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
