Not sure exactly what the new improved bill format is, but it did have the annual summary at the end, and did state the calorific value used to calculate the gas kWh, which previous ones didn't.
MyAccount says my next bill will be available in May 2013, so maybe that is the annual review date?
I suspect you're right that my current payments are a bit low. My own calculations show that I am tracking at £107/month based on the last 12 month's usage and current tariff rates. That is ignoring the current credit balance, but maybe it still means that the "curve" of the account balance will be a bit below ideal with me paying only £100/month. They may try to justify a bigger increase in May's review, but I'll probably just calculate it myself for a zero balance at the end of the tariff and argue that way. Mind you, they will of course have their system fixed by then.

Thanks for that.
Not that, so it was the "old" style then.
They won't get any more readings from me unless they ask for them or the meter reader comes round, so it could be a while before I get another bill.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I currently pay £52 DD per month for gas & electricity from EDF & read my meters every month, so I get a bill on the current cost. If I waited until the next bill it would be generated on the new up to date cost. Also it helps me to keep an eye on the cost0

That's one benefit of being on a fixed price tariff. I know what I'll be charged, track the costs myself and make sure I'm paying enough to cover it in the long term. Saves me the frustration of having to call EDF and get a ridiculous DD increase cancelled every time they generate a bill due to getting a reading.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I am a small user of both gas and electric and pay only £26.00 per month.I perhaps have been quite lucky in that I have been with EDF for a few years and never have had any problems with them I am at the moment £160.00+ in credit with them but I don't mind as if I need it then its there in a cold snap.I did have my house well insulated and a new boiler installed about two years ago I have just had their stuff in about price fixing for three years and am seriously considering whether to do it or not I can't honestly see it reducing in price much over the next three winters and if anything probably going up Any ideas chums about fixing fuel prices ??
Just a piece of info I'm with E D F not looking forward to giving my readings, this subject is why I left B G. I run my mothers account with Scottish Power over the internet and have this same problem, when giving them the usual roasting (otherwise nothing will ever be done, they think everybody are sheep) They seem to be trying to to take the Banks Crown. Anyway while going for it with their staff they turned round and informed me that IF your credit balance is more that 3 times your monthly payment the regulators have told the Utility Companies to return the money to the account holder. How true this is I have yet to see.
One very unhappy Utility user.

Fixing is a personal choice.
The benefits are it gives you a fixed rate for the duration of the tariff, so you don't have to worry about price increases in that time, as you won't get any.
The downside is that you start out paying a bit more than the currently available variable tariffs. But if you had fixed before the current round of increases, then there's a good chance you'd already be on an unbeatable rate.
It still won't stop them putting up your monthly payments.

It will probably encourage them to increase the monthly amount further so they don't have to repay until the credit balance is higher. :eek:0
