Cat milk

Our little old cat has decided that she really really likes milk, after ignoring it for 15 years or so. We've bought her some proper cat milk and I've read the label which just says its lactose reduced. I was wondering if it would be just as good (and a lot cheaper) to buy her lactose free 'human' milk?

AFAIK it's only the lactose which cats have an issue with. There is readily avaialable lactose free milk.. if you look at the cats milk it's only "reduced" lactose so I would think it's better to use the lactose free milk.

I think it's all down to marketing.. puit it in a pretty bottle for cats and you can charge more..
  • I did.

And, other than once in a blue moon, Madam decided that she doesn't like it.

I, however, have found it much nicer tasting than normal milk and now use it all the time.

So she's still costing me extra even though she isn't interested in it!

ETA: as soon as she stopped drinking cat milk, her bouts of diarrhoea stopped.

  • Thanks for that, we'll keep buying that then. neither seem to have affected her tummy so its really just the cost.
