Third Party Credit Application

in Credit cards
Going to throw a quick question out to you all, I have been researching for some time and I know a lot of the experts out there have a lot of knowledge
I have been checking soft searches and am deciding on a card to apply for but I found that one of the cards I am considering has a better offer through a comparison site than through the provider
I know in mobiles a third party like Carphone Warehouse requires a better credit result than say o2 would themselves. Does that apply with credit cards
Would someone be less likely to be accepted going for a better offer through a comparison site than applying directly
Any advice is appreciated, thank you in advance

I think you would be better applying yourself - a credit check is a credit check whether carried out by the bank or mymomscomparisonsitedotcom.
Why dont you want to apply direct? Surely the same info you would be filling in.0 -

Hi RichL
The thing is that the second website have a referral deal and are offering me an interest free term where directly the provider are not
That was why I wondered whether it may vary2013 Wombles onto Giftcard Challenge £0/£1200 -
Right okay I guess that makes more sense.

The Referral site is only an aggregator of applicants - these firms should not require your personal details in order to process the application (which will be done by the lender/CC company).
You should find if it is an online application, you will have been transferred to the CC's OWN site for the processing of applications. Any special deals provided as part of the referral will be tracked as normal.
Imagine the mayhem if Barclaycard let any old referral cmpany have the 'power' to issue valid cards on a whim? As for acceptances, I have heard the 'line' in which potential cardholders have to leap over is somewhat flexible, especially if they are 'down' in the number of applications for that month. Clearly they won;t let everyone get one, but it will be the luck of the draw - especially if there are a high number of 'good quality' applicants.0 -

I have wondered that myself given they say rates can be given to the majority of customers, should few people be accepted surely they have to lower their criteria to meet their promise, so it would work both ways2013 Wombles onto Giftcard Challenge £0/£1200
