10% off Homebase I don't think so.

First posting on here for a while . Homebase are giving out cards with 10% off this week, what a scam ! I bought 2 cans of paint last week and had to buy two more of the same this week . Hoping I would get my 10% off the prices I paid the week before, it came as a shock that in ONE week they had increased the price of each can by nearly £5 so in fact I paid more with the promotion than on a non promotion week. Sneaky or what !!!!!!!

I bought a Bosch drill for £75 from B&Q or whoever. I subsequently saw it at Homebase for £180. I doubt they sold any. Then a few weeks later it was on sale at half price i.e. £90. They purposefull sell a good at an absurd price in one store for a month or two, so that they can then advertise it as being on sale with a very high discount. It is a con trick, grossly dishonest, and I was surprised. But it is legal.

Homebase sucks. As do most of the DIY supermarkets.

I buy power tools from B&Q. As my neighbour, an electrician says, they have a lot of buying power, and sometimes have very good offers. Their exchange policy is very good too. I bought a grass trimmer, it was useless, so they refunded me, no questions asked.

I believe screwfix are owned by the same group as B&Q but are generally cheaper... but more restrictive with refunds etc

That's sad. I thought they were better than some. Kitchen shops such as Magnet are a devil for these fake sales.
