NCP car park PCCN

I recently received a letter from NCP to pay a parking charge of £100. It says that that a PCCN had been attached to my vehicle because I'd parked in a pay and display car park without clearly displaying a valid pay and display ticket
The day this was meant to have happened I bought a pay and display ticket in the NCP car park Glasgow city centre. I paid for an hour returned to my car and sat the p&d ticket inside my side window (the p&d ticket was still there when I got the letter from them) I was away from my car for 15 minutes max. When I returned there was no parking charge notice 'attached to my vehicle' the first I knew about this was when I got the letter telling me to pay them £100.
Should I contact them and tell them I still have my p&d ticket, and that I never received an original parking charge ticket. Or just ignore all letters from them?
Also, I put my reg number into the machine when I bought the p&d ticket, so they must know I paid to park.

If its your car just ignore them would be the simplest thing to do, you've paid there is no loss to ncp , they just want your money and will not listen to reason, so no point contacting them
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
