    Good luck Unix.

I quite fancy waking up with snog tomorrow. As long as it isn't with Timothy.

    I agree... Timothy honks!

Making tea cakes tomorrow, hopefully they will be light and not like rock buns. Melted butter (marg but don't be bursting my day dream) and a cuppa tea. Nice :)

No snow yet but the sky is orange. Why does the night sky glow orange when snow is imminent?
  • Thanks. I'm at the point where I'm thinking of giving up nursing. The public either hates or loves us and we're always wrong.

Anybody know how to keep a Collie from getting matted? I'm going to have to take the beast to the dogspa soon and he's going to wind up with shaved areas behind his ears and probably loose his leg feathers. He lies on the snow and then the body heat melts it and he matts.
  • We had a rough collie(Lassie dog) when I was little and I seem to remember that matting was all she did apart from shedding hair 24/24 and the hours and hours of grooming we did seemed to diassapear the second she went outside and came back just as matted as ever!!!!! Never did figure out how to keep her neat and tidy, but she was a dear old thing and lived to 17 and was worth the trouble!! Cheers Lyn x.

Well still no snow, but its laying about 2 miles away from us. gutted.

Took me ages to get ds2 to sleep,we've had hail but no snow. He's been waiting for it all day, ah well thats what i get for watching the news.

OH's father came today, he popped to see the kids even OH wasn't here. So he spent time with the boys and stayed for dinner.

Think the price for a massive pan of rissoto and home made bread together was about 98p. The boys and grandad went back for thirds and scrammed down half a large loaf. OH was gutted as there was only one large bowl left. So he had the rest of the loaf with one slice of meat and cheese.

So not bad for one day.

Hows your back kidcat? It sounds, have a nice long hot bath with lots of bubbles.

I'm attending a safeguarding meeting tomorrow with parents 4 change so i'll be getting picked up for that at 9:15am. After that i'm going to musclo-skeletal clinc to be mucked about and asked to be referred to orthopedics. Then off to the school for 3:30pm for parents evening. While were there myself and OH will be seeing why ds2 has had no support off the teachers.I can see a lot of back pedaling but were not having it this time. Not with the proof we have.

Own my own - just jumped right in! honestly you'll fit right in. The people on this thread have helped me out so much, and listened to me and rant and rave.

OH been telling me about me about a wonderful sight of the snow falling down the mouth the cave. Breathtaking.

wondercollie - ((hugs)) travelling with my boys and my OH is extremely stressful - I can just about cope with the boys but my OH I end up wanting to kill! :)
Could you change the type of nursing? My friend works in neo natal, she says its heartbreaking some days but the rewards on other days more than make up for it. Whereas another family friend works in paeds and loves it - says she couldnt hack neo natal at all. :)

Would a coat help for the collie? One of our cats used to mat terribly in the summer so I can sympathise.

stiltwalker I hope you feel better tomorrow.

Pops - I meant to say earlier, I think your shopping budget sounds good, if you can manage to shop and turn out meals for £1 a day thats excellent, I have never worked ours out, to be honest with all the different meals I end up cooking it would depress me to know, but I can guarantee you I cant bring my meals anywhere near £1 a head every day.

kezlou - no chance of a bath, couldnt get in or out, never mind sit in it :) but thanks for the support:)
If school are not supporting your DS contact your parent partnership, they are fully up on legislation and can offer you support and advice, they will attend school meetings with you, and as such can be an impartial witness to any breach of promises from a school.

  • Kidcat: WC has a coat but it doesn't really help. People around the corner have a Sheltie and he wears a snowsuit on his walks, only his head and tail stick out. All the other dogs laugh at him, as do the kids!

I'm a hospital nurse at heart. I've worked general surgery, gynie and opthamology/ENT over the years. I worked in inner city clinics and liked that but got tired of having my car vandalized and small thefts in the actual clinic. I think I'm going to the prison service next. Never had a bad time working with prisoners when I've had them post-op. So it looks like I'll finish up my career behind bars.

Our collie sheds hair constantly despite being regularly brushed/combed. I wish i had known this before we had her, although now we have her i wouldn't contemplate letting her go.

She is short haired and the hair gets everywhere. Makes for a hellofalot more cleaning and doesn't do my asthma much good either.

I have Lassie. (See avatar). We found a wonderful brush that we use about 5 minutes a day on the difficult bits. But if you leave it 2 days it takes 20mins.
