2tonsils, I have done the lemon peel in vinegar thing and I would dilute it a bit more because it stains if you get it on textiles like a bath mat. It is a good cleaner though
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

That was interesting 2Tonsils(It was even better)as I also got some crumpets too(37p)

That shop was mainly all fresh items...as opposed to items that have a long shelf life, I reckon I can stretch that to last at least a week)possibly longer. So that comes in approx £2 or less daily for my meals...Many days I can manage nearer the £1 mark.

    Super tip 2t, thanks :)

Meme, a whole new meaning to the term fat fingers. The trick is to hold the device with your ring fingers and little fingers then glide your pointing fingers over the keyboard quite quickly... But don't take any notice of me, as we've seen I'm carp :p

Sorry to read about your tooth jem. Just what you need!

Wanting to share where I get my glasses from. It's goggles4u.co.uk I've waited until I got my second pair to share just incase they were unreliable. I think they're from America or at least overseas as take 3 weeks to come through but my glasses cost me £9.97 and that includes delivery. Both times the prescription has been spot on. I'm always a bit nervous as whether to share things like this just incase someone has a bad experience but I will buy a third pair from them when needs be. HTH

Tea tonight was Spanish chicken (chicken tonight jar £1 sorrrrrrrrry!) with mashed swede/potato and peas. I used chicken thigh as was a fair bit cheaper but by fish it was tasty :)

Saw it... Meant to be gosh.

Thanks for all the deodorant tips. Lots to think about. DH said why do in just buy unscented. I didn't really have an answer to that.

LL has not given the go ahead for us to get that undisputed £100 yet. Sensible me think its because its the weekend but cynical me thinks he's just playing this out as long as he possibly can, only acting when he really has to. I'm not letting at all get to me and still in a really nice contented mood. I was dancing to pixie Lott doing tea, good times.

Decided against the pixie cut. I'm a bit upset because I wanted to try it out but I just figured it was too expensive to get it restyled and the upkeep of the style would have been about £20 every month. It's not worth it.

Bubbles are waiting (suds not champaign) oh and I'm playing his next Saturday to friends of ours. They are coming to stay. Eeek! It's been a longtime since we've done anything like this as was embarrassed by the old house. I don't know whether to cook a meal or get a takeaway. We'll be eating off our knees so I think a takeaway would be more acceptable lol

Edit: host not his. Honestly do you not think honk is nearer to host than his is. Intelligent device my arris!

It was me who thought it looked good...but I haven't looked at it.

Book people had it for 4,99 plus postage, but Amazon have it for seven which was a whisker cheaper!

I consider myself very lucky I have iPhone and Mac to use ad lib courtesy of work, but trust me they demand their (many) pounds of flesh in return as I have to be on call most nights and have to stay sober as a consequence ....
That means I have a job too and so get paid So that is a good thing too.

DH and I bought refurbed iPads having saved for them when home PC kaputified loads cheaper than new! Easier to use than a PC and more social. Plus I can claim some of the iPad as I use it for work too.
Our daft expense is DH bonkers car. But that has been subject to cut backs too.
HM beef casserole bulked out with spuds and beans tonight and for next night. Loads of veg bought and salad stuff for work , made a salad already for work so saves me a job tomorrow am!
Managed to get some reduced mint chocs for DM and DSM borthday presents today, both in early Jan ..... Put up price of shopping but taking the present fund into account all is fine.
Aside from that DH reports no overtime at present so back to serious budget and little room for overpayments on debt.

Fuddle - you could do a finger food type buffet which is good for eating off knees. :)

Its been a long day and we have finally got all the Christmas stuff packed away into the loft, and had lunch, then I napped. Have been up most of the nights with the cats, I need to spend time this week integrating them properly with each other to prevent the fighting, all instigated by the girly. The boy (dementia) spends his night coughing at her or howling after me - he needs company, would be ideal if they could agree to share a sofa, he would sleep happily and she would not feel so anxious. BUt we are a long way away from that at the moment.

Back to school tomorrow for most of the kids and I am dreading it, I have enjoyed having them all off and being able to do stuff with them.
The idea of getting up in the cold dark mornings and herding them into their various places does not thrill me. I am sure once they are all back in properly, I will be ok but for now I am not enthusiastic.

I got the book for Christmas too, but so far have just been drooling at the pictures, so it's good to hear that the recipes are as good as they sound! Is wild rice quite easy to get hold of? I had a look at that recipe and thought it sounded worth a go. I got some feta cheese at the supermarket this morning and intend to give the pearl barley risotto with marinated feta a go later in the week.
    .

I think it's reasonably easy to get, but it's expensive, so be prepared. It only needs 50g though, so a 250g packet will do you five lots...everything else in it is cheap enough. I'm currently using a box of wild rice I bought whoopsied ages ago, so it keeps well :p in between uses! I liked the look of the barley dish, but barley isn't GF so I'm a bit wary of what the effects might be (TMI sorry!)

I've also made the chicken with fennel and Arak (pernod) which was really tasty! it has slices of orange in it. Nom Nom.

Fuddle your talk of hair cuts reminded me of something I was going to suggest to everyone some time ago.....I used to go to get my hair done and have superb massages and beauty treatments as the local college. It was dirt cheap compared to going to a salon and the trainees were always supervised and in their second or final year. I used to go between study groups at the university so it destressed me. It might be worth finding out if there are colleges near to you that do it ,or hair salons.

Well, we are now on a severe weather warning for the whole of Greece till mid week...high winds, thunderstorms , freezing temperatures and snow even at low elevations. Most of the ferries have been cancelled and some of the Greek ski resorts have been closed due to the high winds causing the snow to drift. Have a roaring fire going and about to have a big hot cup of tea. Still haven't found my real pashmina out to stop the freezing wind getting to me tomorrow....
