possession- its worth contacting the school again, it never hurts to remind them that you are watching, if you are still concerned write a letter to the chair of governors, they will put you in touch with the designated bullying governor.
I didn't know there was one! I will see what happens tomorrow. Don't want to get my facts wrong.
Stiltwalker my DH wouldn't be able to change a tyre either I'm afraid. That's what I get for marrying an Egyptologist.
PS I swapped matching bricks for my house for lemon drizzle cake.0 -
Posted my cheque to DS's college today :emoticon for cringy sad face: and also handed over £87 for my exhaust to be sorted. The guy who does my repairs and stuff is a top bloke though and he collected my car from me at work, took it home, fixed it and bought it back (I had to drive him back home then though - that's how it works round here LOL!) Very, VERY grateful it wasn't more money and that he did it so quick.
I've never had to change tire on my car either...I doubt I'd be strong enough to undo the nuts...but I vaguely know how to do it
I've watched a few times.
We had leftovers for dinner again, chorizo and potato stew, very tasty and spicy on a cold night and I just ate a couple of white choc and cranberry muffins left over from the Market on Tues. Still very fresh, quite impressed, I've not used that recipe before, and I thought it had a lot of egg in, but if that's the result worth making again. It was off the Whitworths dried cranberries packet.
Popped around to DD's new place with some post, it's the first time I've been in, seems much warmer and nicer that the other house, in a much better state of repair. It's a nightmare to park though, on a hill on a yellow line. I gave up and parked five minutes walk away, in a safe place!
Work was so quiet though, no one in the office either, both of the upstairs folks have a sick elderly parent at the moment. Neither sounds very good to me, it's that time of year isn't it...
We had hardly any customers, and we didn't cover the wages for today...I don't know why it was so quiet, apparently it was busy yesterday. I'm in again tomorrow so would be nice if it was a bit more lively. I had a strange piece of post there though...from a customer we had in back in March. He chatted to me about chickens, as they are wandering about outside the cafe from the mill across the road, and I told him we had some at home too... he asked me what mine were called, and I explained the first four had names, and the next four didn't and were just called 'the marans' or 'the legbars' He'd written a poem about my chickens and sent it to me with another poem about chickens and a card saying thanks for the chat.... :rotfl: OH thinks my nutter magnet is working again!

FUDDLE - How is your little one today after her fall yesterday? I hope she's suffered no real damage and is feeling OK. The weather forecast has just said it will be up to 11 degrees by the weekend, not happy about the amount of rainfall coming with the warm front though.
Is anyone else concerned at the prospect of fragging for gas all round the country? - I can't say it fills me with joy as a prospect, just for 30 (allegedly) years supply of gas - I'd much rather see the investment made in renewables and not leave things to a private company, it makes me feel just a little uneasy!!!

I can change a tyre and a fan belt.....but my ex husband was a tyre fitter so there's no excuse,
Manic day here, had to shop for the weekends festivities (was leaving it incase the bad weather was set to continue as my family don't drive if there's a risk of ice). I've cleaned the house from top to bottom (will just need a quick Hoover through on Saturday) I've wrapped everyone's pressies and I've made a lit of jobs for tomorrows cooking marathon. I got to do this for my parents 40th anniversary and now their 45th...best start saving for their golden one.
Got a YS pork loin which I did with a creamy peppercorn sauce, mash and veg for tea, it was divine. I love peppercorn sauce and really should make it more often.
One of my older cats came in licking his lips and clawing at his mouth, I can't see anything obvious but he's quite distressed by it. Hand fed him some chicken and he had a lick of some cheese sauce and he's curled up in the corner to sleep, he's in pain bless him. Have a vets appointment for 9am so hope they can sort whatever it is, I'm guessing a cracked tooth.
The three kittens have been playing in a box all afternoon, I popped into a charity shop and managed to grab a bargain, an 8 piece coffee set in the Denby service I'd started to collect. They bunged it in a huge box and I could barely get the stuff out before the kittens got in.....they love boxes, they've taken toy mice in there and have been tipping it over and biting chunks out of it. Simple things eh?
Right I need to go start making a trifle, and rinse my gammon, make some pastry....blah blah blah,,,,,"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Oh Katie - that gave me such a laugh - thank you!
My dear dad made me learn how to change a tyre after I separated from DH1 & do the oil, water & battery etc. I'm so glad he did 'cos I had a flat once half way up the circular ramp to a multi storey car park - I limped up to the next level, parked & changed the flat felt really proud of myself.Let the jack down & found the spare was flat ......! Very nice young attendant took pity on me & got it pumped up while I went shopping. As that was the best part of 40 years ago don't think much of my chances now!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

Well, I'm less than happy. Does anyone think we'll really see any benefit especially on price, if we already cannot afford the central heating, it will not come down in price. All energy(Oil, gas, petrol etc...)damages the planet I guess but do we really think breaking up the planet is a good idea, is it any wonder there is the possiblity that it causes earth tremours/quakes.
It's still horrible out there but I risked a look out and managed to(thanks to items reduced via the yellow stickers)£13 worth of food for approx £6(Sliced Roast Pork, Prawns and a kind of fancy Roast with potato, butternut squash, pine nuts, port and other ingredients)I can stretch the pork and prawns to make a few meals and sandwiches and the roast meal will be a treat and something I would not normally be able to afford/consider.
That last item cost £2(but I saved £2)so this really is a one off treat. And at least double what I would normally spend for one day of food, possibly two.

fracking is scaring the heck out of me. No-one will get lower energy prices and we are selling our childrens and grandchildrens future to foreign companies. They will destroy our pure water resources, break up the land, take the gas profit for their own pockets. Then they will leave us with a land that may well be barren in great parts. It won`t be far from where most people live

I just heard that any gas recovered will go into the general european pot, so we will not get any benefits as such. I am furious, we are being sold down the river0 -
Of course there are many good things about being alive but the more I see what our politicians often decide policy wise I actually wonder if I like what is happening and would I be worried about being part of what is going on, it just seems that there is more to worry over or we have to accept living with...Fracking is just another to be concerned over.
Considering how they go on about green policies and the future for the children this seems to be the opposite of what they preach...
