I'd have eaten it but food safety isn't my forte so kept schtum till others who know said so ;):p

You don't 'alf talk sense Lyn :D I just want to earn a little bit to make life easier, to save and just be content. I was perfectly content before, I can be again. I don't have to prove anything to any body do I.

Anyone know where to get star drops? Mine is nearly out, lasts ages and I can't remember where I got it from.

Has anyone been camping in a pod? My sister did it at the weekend and is raving about it. It must be good because she hates camping! I haven't been in my tent since getting Alfie because, well quite frankly I think he would just bounce off the nylon!

You can get Stardrops in Boyes, Fuddle and I'm sure I've seen it in Wilkinson's, definitely in Poundworld and probably in Poundland too. Apparently it's also in Asda, though I don't shop there.

I have many snake stories... DS bought Harri the corn snake as a hatchling, and within 2 days was offered Oscar, a fully grown mis-sexed female corn who was in urgent need of a new home. Both have gorgeous markings, though are completely different in appearance.
We've been lucky with Harri, when he was in his juvenile tank he escaped twice and both times we found him. 60% of escapees are not found.
Oscar has always had an escape proof tank, which she now shares with Harri. The next time they lay eggs, I want DS to incubate them properly - hatchlings are so sweet and such beautiful bright colours.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
  • FUDDLE you already have proved yourself to be a thoroughly decent, compassionate, caring, hard working ,competent, totally brave and intelligent adult, you certainly don't need to improve on that my dear in fact I'm not certain you could. You are A OK and you've demonstrated that 1,000 times over with all you have done since I've known you on this thread. You certainly have my respect and admiration, no need to prove yourself to anyone, only you, Cheers Lyn xxx.

I have Stardrops...never had them until I read about them on here...all the places that have been suggested stock it.

Not good I have not done any tidying so far today so it will give me something to do tonight. I was going to do it any way but they saw it on Wednesday(my food store)I didn't manage to move it before they came but I was clearing the other stuff first.

At least 9 crates are neatly packed/stored in one of the inbuilt bedroom wardrobes as I have no clothes to hang in it and it doesn't have shelves(I still could probably hang some coats in it)I have put my spare gadgets in the cupboard too so its not cluttering any room. It was cluttering the room it was in for that matter. Also it took a fair bit of strength to move it all upstairs. Was glad I had my shopping trolley.

Surely they can't play war about that. Its not on show. Bit of nuisance the food being upstairs but if I decide to install a microwave in another bedroom and put a spare kettle in their I can do quick snacks upstairs. I often have a mug of tea/coffee upstairs.

It went quite easy in Darlington...the bus stopped outside the Post Office(haven't been in there for 30 years)it now has soft comfortable seats and you are given a ticket with a number, you don't queue and numbers are called out. Lovely for elderly, disabled like me or parents with children, just about everyone.

    I've never seen it before.

Then a bus to the theatre for the ticket for the Osmonds, I decided to go to Sainsbury's but its a hard walk and a struggle but found another bus that stopped outside the store and when I came out one was at the bus stop and waited for me.

Straight onto another one home. Purchased mainly salad stuff(Pea shoots, watercress, spinach and rocket)Gala apples, bananas and raspberries.

Also some cans of beans I have never tried before to add to some dishes so that will be something new for me. Normally I only know the kind you get in baked beans or broad beans.

You know the two that called the other day they said silly things like you have some eggs there. I know I have or if there was a bit of loose change they'd point it out to me...

I may still ask for help and am always learning but I have been cooking and making meals for over 40 years...

You're too kind Lyn. I just get up on a morning and deal with whatever comes my way, like us all.

Thing is, I worked in schools pre-financial meltdown and pre-fuddle. The person I was back then is not the person I am now and I think I'd make a much better teaching assistant today than I ever was. I've grown up, dealt with a bit of life, had children of my own now. The snag is finding a school who will take me on after a 5 year gap. We shall see.

Lyn you wouldn't have spoken so highly of the spoilt brat I used to be. I worked for everything still, nobody give me anything (apart from credit that is) but I expected that I should be able to get whatever it is that I wanted (of course within reason).

It will be interesting seeing 'me' today in the job I did as the old 'me'. Think I've lost you all. Sorry! I know what I mean. It's just opening and closing chapters has got me thinking.

Car washed, upstairs hoovered, every bit of ironing put away ironed, wash basket empty, bedrooms tidy, downstairs spotless so that leaves bathroom/toilet tomorrow.

Front grass has been down three weeks now and is looking long. It's been well watered in and had plenty of sun... Too early to trim it with the mower on its highest setting?

You're doing OK POPS, don't let this hiccup change anything, you're managing life, eating well, going out and about and beginning to smile again, it shows in your posts. Don't let those two clowns stop you from doing anything you want to, and being who you are, it will all get sorted and you'll be OK, Cheers Lyn x.

FUDDLE pet, I say it as I see it!!! No flannel, just how you come across here, and I only know the you that you are now, so I wouldn't recognise the you that you were before. I think you'll see such a difference in yourself when you start a new job, a difference of attitude and a different mindset altogether, you've come a long, long way pet, I think you've arrived!!!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.

My digital camera is quite old though it works. Not sure I can justify buying a sooper dooper new one the price some of them cost and being on my own but I see Aldi have a limited special buy on a digital camera for under £40 on Thursday it also has two LCD screens(doing away with the viewfinder I assume)and the video function has ten effects within its software. It has a 3 year guarantee.

Its available in blue, red and grey...this time I may go for a more funky colour.

So I'll get myself down for when the shop opens and see what I think. Getting ready to throw myself into my work again...by eating Cadbury's Giant Buttons which are fine but the BBD is July 2011!

Focus less on yourself and things are easier. Look at the bigger picture and the problems other people have.

Pops thank you those recipes look incredible:)

Its been a strange day, my stomach still feels iffy and I feel rubbish. I did school runs this morning and then lay down for the day, OH is not impressed but as he is working tomorrow I really wanted to try getting over it. I have yet another migraine now.

DD7 has had her sats today - bit concerned as they apparently marked their own papers today which sounds mighty iffy.

Made Hairy Bikers fish stew for dinner which always goes down well (surprising as DS15 hates stew) although the littlies still wont eat it.
I am using whoopsie fish so it works out incredibly cheap to do if a little fiddly.
