If I lived in a flat and I had to claim for damage to communal areas on the block building insurance would I then need to declare this claim once I moved out and wanted to take out my own personal building insurance on a three bedroomed house?

I don't think it's down to you to make a claim fo damage to communal areas. This should be one by the freeholder or the managing agent acting on behalf of the freeholder.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
