They are popular in North America but not so much here. Can anyone recommend a brand and a charger for them? I am considering buying a torch that takes 18650 batteries.

That must be a huge torch to take that many batteries :rotfl:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I know for whatever reason they are not popular here but this is a poor response on a tech forum!0

Haven't used them but googled as if I were going to
About the batteries, not popular with airlines either.

So far, Amazon is returning the better prices

Amazon do the chargers but this charger has some information about them, such as automatic cut off, and is similar in cost to the ones on Amazon.

i read about them on a mountain bike forum, theyre a popular choice for front bike lights for mountain biking0

They are small and light and 3.7v, so pack some punch - try model shops, those ate all desirable traits for model aircraft, for instance, or remote control cars0

Funnily enough I was just asking the same question in the bike forum:

I'd never come across them before but they sound pretty useful so planning on giving them a go.

I have used them for about 3 years now, and recommend http://www.torchythebatteryboy.com for torches and batteries. In fact just got a new torch from him last week, dug out a battery I have had in my desk for over a year and it still had power in it!
My only concern about them and the charger is overheating! I never leave them to charge over night or when I am not around, just a precaution because they generally come from cheap chinese sources.0
