Positive balance - Any help appreciated.

I got a new barclaycard platinum credit card this month, 3000 credit limit. Ive probably spent about 500 quid so far.

I used it to put a 10 quid bet and won 2500 quid. I would normally only use my debit card for this but I didnt have it with me when i wanted to place the bet.

I would rather have the money into my bank account but because I debited using the credit card, the betting site will only put the money back onto the card.

Can I load that much back onto the credit card? Is there anyway of getting it from the card to my bank account ?

As above any help appreciated.

    Who's your company?

I know if you go into a credit they can send you a cheque or something, but I'm not sure if others fine you or anything for it - but it's not exactly something you can help right now.

I suggest giving them a ring and asking, but I'm sure someone with experience of it will come and comment soon.

Is the bookie prepared to refund all the winnings to the credit card? That's unusual in my experience. They normally only refund a credit card up to the amount that was debited from it. Additional winnings normally have to be withdrawn by some other means.

If they'll only refund it to the card from which the bet was placed, do that then contact barclaycard and ask them to return the positive balance to your account. Hopefully they'll just transfer it, but they might send you a cheque.

Congratulations by the way, brilliant win from a £10 stake.

    Nice one....

But remember gambling transaction on a credit card is classed the same as a cash debit. Therefor interest from the day of debit.

Still with the return you got on £10, thats not going to worry you.

Let them transfer it back to your credit card and then ask B/C to transfer to your bank account. This should be free, as you are not supposed to have a credit balance on a credit card now.
    Yes some do allow it.
