Help! I need a cheap courier for sewing machine

Hi
Can anyone help me please:
I need a reliable but cheap courier to pick up a sewing machine for me, if I win. Is not working but being sold as for spares, so don't wang to spend too much in case it is not compatible with my working machine. I can't collect as too far and have never used courier co before.
Don't buy much on ebay!
TIA
:D

You will probably need to get the seller to weigh it and give the boxed dimensions once it is boxed to be able to get the courier gurus on here to be able to help.

Also is the seller restricted with collection times at all or is he happy to be around for a day or two for when your courier can collect.

  • Thanks soolin, have asked the seller but no reply yet. Is likely to be quite heavy. Could weigh mine on bathroom scales with attachments but will take me some time as have to take it out of cabinet. Will do tho if seller indicates courier collection ok.
Pity so far away, as they don't come up very often and mine is getting on. Would be great to have backup spares for when it does die!

Frankly any seller that allows a buyer to send a courier is a bit daft, so you might find seller will say no anyway. If they do allow it, don't forget you will need box dimensions as well as weight as many couriers use size as well as weight to calculate price. Is the item going t be securely wrapped, enough to be thrown around or manhandled at a depot as getting it back to seller for a refund is going to cost you the courier costs both ways if damaged.

  • Hmm hadn't thought about it being chucked about and damaged more!
Doesn't seem as good an idea as I first thought. :(
Was started at 99p and didn't think was likely to go too high as not working anyway. Seems too much hassle now and would just gather dust so will just look locally in future!
Excellent, I saved some money by not buying! :money: :p
Thanks for helping anyway soolin! :D
