  • I try to thank the OP personally, but I agree that the comps are not always easy to find, especially when wins turn up with no notes.

I thanked the wrong poster recently, but was kindly pointed in the right direction. Thanks for your help Jambo :)
To err is human, but to really mess things up you need a computer.

I have also done it the odd time, its hard to sometimes to search for multiple comps to thank from my phone. Sorry x

I do get so cross when people enter competitions on here, win lovely prizes and then say thanks "someone", I know the search doesn't always work but

FGS get a grip! What about a lot of the regs who don't post their wins at all? Therefore they're not thanking the OP. What about the sites and sponsors who of course are really responsible for the winners good luck and publish the comps and send out the prizes? A ridiculous thread from someone with obviously too much time on their hands. Most people click thanks on the OP and if they then cannot find that post on a win and do a general thanks what difference does it make? I'm sure comp posters can see the amount of thanks they get on the OP and aren't bothered if someone can't find the OP on a win. Why are you?? This was an unneeded post and very very petty!!

I tend to pm the poster if I win but with some wins that arrive there's no indication where it's come from.

In those cases there's no way of knowing who posted it especially if it's a dvd where there are loads of different comps for the same one.

No need to be rude. I think the OP is quite right, it does not take too much trouble to search for whoever posted the comp. Some people appreciate the personal thanks because they put so much time into finding and posting the comps.
    Thank you all who post.

I'm with you on this, I've thought a few times it's bad manners to post "Thanks Someone"
The point that tinkerbell makes about saying "thanks to everyone who posts comps" is different.I find that approach less blunt and more socially acceptable lol.
