Ignore the fake PCN of course. Town & City have no authority to fine anyone and will just send the usual letters. Ignore them.

But you can park in a normal space. I have 4 kids and never used a Mother and Baby bay until occasionally when I had my last child. You can get babies out, car seat carrier and all without a special space of course.

Mother and Baby spaces mean nothing; people now expect to use one like it's some sort of right - well it's not. They are a gimmick by the Supermarkets.

Disabled bays are for disabled motorists and they have a right to use them. Never take a disabled bay unless you need it.

    Disabled rights rant over.

The problem is that as certain people realise that private parking tickets are unenforceable, they may choose to park totally as they like, including using disabled bays.

"Disabled Bays" have no meaning on private property.

Its the Equality Act that applies here and under that, any suitable bay - or no bay whatsoever can be considered usable as a reasonable adjustment.

So what on earth are you on about?

Can anyone help just been to my local Asda I was driving around for 20 mins trying to park in a Mother and baby space but none available due to people parking there without kids, I couldnt park in the normal bays as had 3 kids in the back, 3 year old had wet his pants as I couldnt get parked so pulled into a disabled bay while I tried to get child sorted came back from the toilets to find a penalty notice saying £70 due now or £40 within 14 days, what I couldnt understand was the ticket says time of parking 14:48 and when I looked at my watch it was only 13:50 can I ignore this or should I appeal

You would be better to post this in a new thread instead of further confusing an existing one.

Legally correct, but it makes a mockery of reason behind disabled bays on public property.
The point I am making is that I for one would try and leave disabled bays free for disabled users, even if there is no legal compulsion.

Public property would mean a council car park, private property would mean something like a supermarket car park. I think you'll find that 95% of motorists are considerate parkers in supermarkets and its like, there is no large scale problem on most car parks, the problem normally starts when scam parking companies turn up, and start acting illegally by issuing invoices they have no legal right to issue, and threaten court where they again have no legal right to do.

I am considered disabled under the equalities act, but I feel I don't need to park in such a bay, I think that if people have a need to park there then use them, regardless of what the pathetic rules state on a board you have probably not seen. Personally I think there shouldn't be any disabled bays, all parking spaces should be wide enough to open doors fully, if they lose 10% of the car parking space so be it, most car parks are never fully used in case.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

    And so do most people.

Disabled bay abuse on private land IS NOT RIFE and will not get worse because there will always be a similar minority of selfish idiots. We have said this in several threads before, the myth about loads of disabled bay 'abuse' in Supermarkets etc. is down to press hype based on wrong information. :)

No unbiased proper study has been made of disabled bay use on private land. The knee-jerk press horror stories of 'rife disabled bay abuse' are based on a ridiculous and fundamentally flawed 'survey' that a joke of a charity encouraged people to do several years ago.

It was called 'Baywatch' and it actually encouraged disabled readers of 'Disability Now' to 'report' any cars they saw being parked without...a Blue Badge. And 'Disability Now' is the magazine of the well-known 'in-the-pocket-of-several-PPCs' so toally biased charity now known as Disabled Motoring UK.

No proper informed study has ever been undertaken either nationally or locally. No study has ever considered whether the motorists were disabled with any non-obvious condition, or were collecting a disabled shopper (why let the facts get in the way of a good story).

But most people do not use car park disabled bays unless they need them - and the odd selfish idiot wouldn't let a parasite PPC stop him/her.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
