Does anyone know if Mastercard will refund a payment if the transaction was fraudulent? If, for example, the product sold is a fake and has been proven so by it's manufacturers?

If you ordered goods, received them and they are fake, then it's not a fraudulent transaction.
If you have proof that you ordered genuine goods and proof that the goods you have received are fake, then your card issuer may dispute it for you, you'll have to contact them to ask them what they can do.0 -
If it was on a Visa card then. Once you have proof they are fake and that you have tried to return as they are not as described. Then a chargeback (in this instance pre-compliance) can be actioned.
You need to talk to your card provider who will be well used to dealing with this type of thing.
But fraud it is not.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0
