    Asda Extra Special dry cure.

I used to get the value stuff, but the above is so much thicker and has less white stuff on it that it's worth the extra.

As a rule I'm happy with value and own brands, but I make an exception with my bacon.

wE TRY TO GET tESCO vALUE bACK BACON - IT'S THE BEST FOR COOKED BREAKFASTS BUT MIGHT BE A BIT THICK FOR SARNIES.

Yes that is good stuff and only 73p for 500g. You never know what size or shape you are going to get but i guess that is part of the charm?!?

Dont know if anyone else has had different but mine have always been smked bacon which in my opinion is tastier so i am a happy bunny!!:D

I am addicted to bacon butties.
I like the home cured bacon I get from the farmers market which is pricey. Farmfoods do a great streaky at 99p a pack and it tastes lovely once it's crisped up a bit.
It has to be on fresh, white sliced bread with plenty of brown sauce and a mug of sweet tea. Heaven!!

as long as it's smokey bacon I'm not fussed! probably have a preference towards streaky which is awful because it's so naughty and fatty! cheap though :) good for wrapping chicken in.

I get dry cured back bacon cut on No 7 from the local market, no nasty white gunk, nice and thick makes perfect bacon butties. I have had the tesco Value packs for wrapping my little sausages at Christmas and I must agree it was good value.

    Smoked, rindless back ONLY.

Don't buy the value stuff, I like "nice" bacon:D . At the moment I've got a thing for the Tesco sweetcure thick cut.

When I'm being good I buy the medalions, these are very expensive:mad: , a bit tasteless:mad: , but very low in fat:D

  • The NICEST is drycure and the best value is the tesco value mishapes for 73p for 500g. Depends how much I want to spend on the day. Never buy streaky tho-I don't want to pay for fat I am only going to drain off and I wouldnt dream of eating the fat. Misshapes are ideal for recipes.

i have also discovered the Tesco value mishapes pk for 73p, you have to rumage around to find the best pk, but i can normaly find a nice lean pk and you can get a few bits of all differnt cuts in them, the pk i got this week contains smoked and sweetcured as well !!! great value and tasty.. great for quiches ect, if im doing a nice roast then i sometimes sprinkle a few of these odds and ends in to cook on top of the roast pots ..mm yummy
