The phone rang, showing 02070609336.
I picked it up and said hello.
Pause of several seconds.
Then an accented voice came on and asked could I confirm my name.
I asked who was calling.
They said they weren't trying to sell anything, but I have been identified as a possible PPC claimant.
I said how did they know and I hadn't confirmed my identity anyway.
I asked if they were in the UK.
They said no.
So I said why on earth did they think that I would do business with them...
They hung up after a bit.
The number identified is a UK one, but evidently it is fronting an overseas operation.
A web search shows the number as a known one, and I've lodged a complaint with TPS.
