Npower Supertariff
Is it possible to switch to a different company if I'm on supertariff or am I stuck with npower?
Having had a high bill recently, I've queried with them whether I'm on the right tariff and they've said it's the only tariff available to me because I have a meter that measures heat and that I can't get a different meter because then my heating system wouldn't work.
My meter is working fine but even though npower have told me I'm a low energy user, they are saying I'm using £92 of electricity a month and having accrued a debt because my Direct Debit wasn't set high enough, I'm faced with a large DD payment for the next few months. I've had the heating on for an odd day here or there over the past 6 months mainly if I needed washing drying in a hurry - but it's not been on regularly - not even once a week -and it's not on at the moment. I don't see that I can afford to have it on given how much npower are charging so I just wondered if npower is the only company I can be with. Other companies may be no cheaper, even if it is possible to switch, I know but I thought it might be worth investigating.
