DVDshoponline are genuine (i've used them in the past), but tbh I've only had 3 failed disks from the last 400 Verbatim -r (either MCC or Tayo Yuden) & 2 of them was because or read fails, not write.

This program http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/ reads who made the disk.

Thanks, but I want Taiyos as there is poor feedback about disk failures from Verbatim now on Amazon, since Verbatim are now getting their disks made in India.

I want to put home videos onto disk, so I need to be happy that I can trust them not to fail. Taiyos have a good name are still made in Japan. Japan also has a good name for making quality electronics. So it's just Taiyo Yuden/Taiyo JVC DVDs that I want.
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

they make awesome cd's and dvd's but why do you need cd's/dvd's these days

Because my elderly great uncle only has a DVD player and no computer.

I've put his VHS tapes onto my computer with a £5 grabber device that I brought from Hong Kong, thanks to people on here who advised me on a previous thread:T Now I need some quality DVDs; hence why I am asking about Taiyo genuine suppliers.

Thanks to everyone for the help again.

Does anyone use Taiyo Yuden or Taiyo JVC DVDs? I was hoping to hear of a genuine stockist of these DVDs
Avoid Babz. My last pack of JVC DVD+R came from there, and some of the disks had some very odd marks on the writable surface, so I'd be very surprised if they weren't fakes.

    Thanks Stompa.

I ordered them from SVP: my first and last order with them! They claimed by email to have sent them out, but didn't. No phone number to contact them on and they didn't reply to my email. Fortunately I opted to pay using Paypal, so was able to raise a 'dispute' with them and then got the DVDs. I'll use one of the other suppliers on this thread, next time.

Strange, I've used SVP several times before (though admittedly quite a long while ago) and have never had any problems. It's a pity that Amazon themselves no longer sell JVC media.
