civil enforcement ltd - upping the ante

advice please!

im pretty good at ignoring fake fines and not getting caught up it the hype about invoices for parking that are not from the police or council.

however.

got a ticket from civil enforcement ltd from going over the free time at a car park just outside bedford hospital, due to appointment running over.

i got a letter in the post with bill for £150!!!!

ive ignored it - now ive got another saying its the last warning before legal action - pay up or they'll get a bailiff / court etc.

do i still ignore. Do i write and tell them to go away?

i dont want to end up with bad credit mark / bailiffs at the door if i should just pay up....got me spooked! (seasonal i kno!)

thanks

  • To get a bailiff at the door you would have to go to court, lose, and then still not pay. Same goes for your credit rating.
Carry on ignoring and wait for the final final warning which you can also ignore.

The only people who can "get" a bailiff are the court officials - and that's only after the PPC has taken you to court, won their case, and you haven't paid the Judgment within 21 days.

All of which is about as likely as Jimmy Saville turning up at your door in a Halloween mask and saying "trick or treat".

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

Thought I'd fix that for you.

Now then, now then. How's about this then guys and gals? You can ignore CE until the cows come home. They just don't do court as there are far more people who pay up regardless. The chances of Gary Wayne ever showing at court are pretty much next to never.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

You shouldn't be surprised by any letters you are getting, you should be ready for them all. You can play snap with each letter that matches the pictures on the threatogram preview thread 'PPC letter chains' which is currently 5th from top of the forum.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
